pink tax, 2026
“Pink Tax,” 2026, confronts the ways in which women are commodified through their physical attributes while society sells off from female biology. Women are forced to confine themselves to the sexualization and commodification of the female body to afford feminine based products. These products, typically pink and specifically marketed towards women, correlates to the male gaze and the ideal female image. This collection of images intends to create tension between the viewer through self-portraiture. Images were captured to tell a personal story which indicates the female rage through color and image layering featuring found imagery.
